The 100-question examination may assess both knowledge and the candidate's ability to apply concepts to realistic professional situations.

Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% to satisfy the examination requirement.

Candidates have 90 minutes to complete the 100-question online examination after the examination has been activated or started.

Candidates are encouraged to manage their time carefully.

With 100 questions in 90 minutes, candidates have an average of approximately 54 seconds per question.

Once the examination begins, the applicable examination timer and platform rules apply.

The standard passing requirement for applicable IBACTP® certification examinations is 70%.

Candidates achieving the required passing score and satisfying all other applicable certification requirements may proceed to the credential-award process.

Passing the examination demonstrates that the candidate has achieved the minimum assessment standard established for the applicable certification.

IBACTP® recognizes that many certification candidates are working professionals balancing employment, education, business, travel, family, and other responsibilities.

Candidates can therefore complete their online certification examination from a suitable location according to the applicable examination access instructions.

Candidates should ensure they have a reliable internet connection and appropriate testing environment before starting the examination.

Because the certification examination is online, candidates generally do not need to reschedule in the traditional test-center sense.

Self-paced candidates who have communicated a preferred examination date and need to change it should make the request before beginning or activating the examination, where applicable.

The candidate should wait for confirmation of any required change before proceeding.

Because IBACTP® certification assessments are delivered online, the traditional concept of physically missing a test-center appointment does not apply.

Candidates are instead responsible for completing their assessment according to the applicable online access and completion instructions.

Candidates who do not achieve the required 70% passing score are eligible for one new examination attempt within three months, subject to the applicable IBACTP® retake requirements.

The retake is a new examination attempt and should be treated as a new opportunity to demonstrate the required competency.

Candidates should use the period before the new attempt to strengthen areas where additional development is needed.

Certain IBACTP® programs may use an online Capstone Project as the applicable assessment method instead of, or where specified in addition to, the 100-MCQ certification examination.

Capstone projects allow candidates to demonstrate the ability to apply professional knowledge to realistic organizational, technical, analytical, managerial, or strategic problems.

Candidates participating in Virtual Instructor-Led Training, classroom programs, bootcamps, corporate programs, hybrid programs, or other approved instructor-led pathways may receive tests and assessments directly from their assigned trainer.

Completed assessments are submitted according to the trainer's instructions and are subsequently reviewed and graded.

Technical Problems During an Online Exam

Candidates should ensure that their technology is functioning correctly before beginning the 90-minute examination.

If a significant technical problem occurs during an active examination, candidates should follow the applicable IBACTP® support instructions and report the issue promptly.

Candidates should not create unauthorized duplicate examination attempts to resolve technical problems.

Candidates who decide not to continue with a certification program may request cancellation in accordance with applicable IBACTP® registration, payment, and refund policies.

Cancellation of certification registration is different from changing a preferred online examination date.

Where training, course materials, digital resources, examination access, instructor services, or other certification services have already been provided, applicable refund restrictions may apply.

An IBACTP® professional certification awarded after successful completion of the applicable certification requirements is valid for three years, subject to the organization's certification maintenance, professional conduct, and credential policies.
