IBACTP® examination policies protect candidates, credential holders, employers, examination content, and the integrity of the certification process.All candidates must comply with applicable examination policies before, during, and after an assessment.
Candidate Conduct
Candidates must behave professionally and ethically throughout the examination process.
Prohibited conduct may include:
- Cheating
- Receiving unauthorized assistance
- Providing assistance to another candidate
- Using prohibited materials
- Copying examination content
- Recording examination questions
- Sharing examination content
- Impersonating another candidate
- Allowing another person to take the examination
- Misrepresenting identity or eligibility
- Disrupting the examination environment
- Attempting to bypass examination controls
Violations may result in action under applicable IBACTP® policies.
Examination Confidentiality
IBACTP® examination questions, scenarios, answer options, assessment materials, and related content are confidential.
Candidates must not:
- Copy questions
- Photograph examination content
- Record the screen
- Reproduce questions from memory for distribution
- Post examination content online
- Share questions in study groups
- Sell or distribute exam content
- Publish exam items
- Use unauthorized exam dumps
Protecting examination content helps ensure fairness for all candidates.
Unauthorized Materials
Unless specifically permitted, candidates should not use:
- Notes
- Books
- Mobile phones
- Smart watches
- Tablets
- Secondary computers
- Search engines
- Messaging services
- External websites
- Unauthorized calculators
- Personal reference materials
The specific rules for each exam should be reviewed before testing.
Use of Artificial Intelligence During Exams
Unless expressly authorized for a specific assessment, candidates may not use generative AI, AI assistants, copilots, chatbots, automated answer systems, or similar tools to obtain unauthorized assistance during a certification examination.
Examples may include unauthorized use of:
- ChatGPT
- AI copilots
Search-enabled AI assistants
- Automated question-answering systems
Generative AI browsers
- AI coding assistants
Using prohibited AI assistance may be treated as an examination-integrity violation.
Identity Verification
Candidates may be required to present valid identification before testing.
The candidate name should match the examination registration information.
Acceptable identification requirements may depend on:
- Examination provider
- Candidate location
- Delivery format
- Applicable regulations
Candidates should review identification instructions before the appointment.
Examination Security
IBACTP® or its approved examination providers may use security measures such as:
